Foods That Lower Blood Pressure

The foods that lower blood pressure are the foods that nourish yin, build blood and strengthen the kidney-adrenal system:

Barley, black sesame seeds, chlorella, blueberries, eggs, mung beans, kidney beans (actually all beans are good for the kidney-adrenals), potatoes, pork, spirulina, water chestnuts, wheat germ. Animal protein such as eggs and pork should be eaten in small amounts as they are very nourishing and excess may create overheating of the body leading to further consumption of yin.Very important is to have plenty of soups and lots of liquids and never overeat.

Using food for high blood pressure is the most natural way of treatment but it cannot be a substitute for medication in case of a very high reading (140 and above). Other means of treatment should also be employed like acupuncture, herbal medicine or pharmaceuticals until it's under control.
