Prostate Symptoms
Prostate symptoms are similar in both bacterial prostatitis and benign prostatic hypertrophy. Early detection calls for men to summon some courage as a digital rectal examination is not something any man is looking forward to, but it is a part of the routine prostate exam. Not every prostate problem leads to cancer, but to get this possibility out of the way should make you want to visit your friendly doc as soon as possible.
The prospect of having to go through this somewhat embarrassing examination prevents many men from seeking immediate help. Prompt treatment is always easier though, so an early visit might just be what the doctor ordered. Prostatitis is an inflammation of the prostate gland. It is estimated that men will experience some problems with their prostate by the age of 50. Pretty distressing thought considering that 95% of the cause of prostate problems is unknown. These symptoms are typical of prostate problem: • Weak urinary flow • Pain on urination • Difficulty in urination – the need to strain • Frequent urination with difficulty to stop • Urgency to pass urine • Blood in urine • The feeling of down bearing • Pain in inguinal and perineum area
In acute bacterial prostatitis there will also be: • Burning sensation on urination • Pus or blood in urine • Dark, odorous urine
