Quick Weight Loss Tips
To give quick weight loss tips is not exactly rocket science. Reduce the intake of calories and watch the fat melt away. Well, if it was that simple the whole weight loss industry wouldn't be a billion dollar business it is. Losing weight from all the right places though, and keeping it off.. Ahhh, that’s something else.
While we live in such a fast pace, many are starving in the midst of plenty. Starving for nutrition, not food. Breakfast consisting of sugar loaded cereal, lunch on the run somewhere at the fast food outlet, dinner late at night... Not exactly a healthy diet, or lifestyle, but with so many diets on the market and 'quick fix' solutions, we are often put into a false sense of security that even if we get it wrong, we’ll ‘quick fix it’.
But quick fixes don't work. They are usually diets that are very restrictive, providing less nutrients than the body requires (I’m not talking about the calories), or the complete abstinence from food – a short time starvation.
The body denied of sufficient nourishment stimulates cravings, which eventually leads to overeating. A very strict diet progressively decreases the metabolic rate, and once the diet is over - and with cravings on the loose - gaining the weight back is very common. The vicious circle begins. The overly restrictive diets not only don’t work long term, they sabotage any future attempts to lose weight. So what’s the solution? Choosing the right kind of foods is one of the best quick weight loss tips: the foods that are nourishing, cleansing and balancing. It sounds so obvious, doesn't it. For those, who don't mind counting calories, here is a general rule of thumb: 1200 calories - 1500 calories (5000 - 6280 kilojoules) per day for a woman and 2000 - 2500 calories (8400 - 10467 kilojoules) per day for a man. Decreasing 500 calories per day should make you lose 0.5 kg per week. Never go below 1200 calories as it will weaken your metabolism, rather increase the amount of exercise. The numbers will differ from person to person depending on the body weight, life style and metabolism. Experiment witwhat works for you.
The less calories, the more nutrient packed diet should be. A healthy diet is not only about calories, what you eat is much more important, so make sure you know your foods. All food is like a little chemical factory, where different properties affect the body in different ways. Knowing the qualities of the foods, you can influence and strengthen the metabolism to make the food digest faster and be assimilated more completely.
Did you know that bananas should be avoided when trying to lose weight as they contribute to excessive accumulation of fluids, phlegm and toxins? Strawberries on the other hand help eliminate those fluids, which makes them great addition to the weight loss diet. Learn more on how to choose foods that can help you lose weight faster than ever in the e-book coming up by the end of February.
